Make the first impression a winning one by having an impressive resume

It's about your story

The Perfect Resume

Where to start, that’s the first thing bugging you, because there are many possibilities available, you can choose from an Online template, use a Word template, pay someone to write your resume or you can get a sample from your mate.

I know you would love to be creative and add a splash of colour here and there, use multiple numbers of tables, bullet points or numbers, long paragraphs, and images. Also, underline every heading, add page breaks as many as possible.
Please go easy there tiger, unless you are in the creative or art industry, I mean for an example if you are a Graphic or a UX designer, then your resume differs from rest of the student population. You, my friend, get creative and your resume must look like an art piece that anyone who touches it transported to a different land.

Ok the rest of the student population, this is what is happening in the industry now. Many major companies are hiring Recruitment Agencies to source top talent, and some agencies manage the graduate programmes for these global organizations. There are pros and cons in this, but that’s another topic we will discuss on another day.

When your resume goes to these agencies, they might edit your resume, not the content but the format. So hours and hours of work that you put in designing the resume is not worth it if they are not going to send it to the client.

The reason behind this is to protect their ownership, having their logo and name on the resumes they are sending, marketing purposes, and it’s their company policy. So no matter how beautiful your resume looks, most of the images and colours may disappear when they copy it to their word templates.

So don’t waste your time decorating your resume, instead, get some valuable content on it. It should be simple, easy to understand and must include all your awesomeness.

Let’s begin, shall we? I am going to keep it as simple as possible, so it’s easier for you to fill in the blanks.

Remember it’s your story, write a good one.
